Kawangware informal media academy - Kenya

Xchange Perspectives supports the establishment of an informal academy for graphic design, video production and photography in Kawangware, one of the biggest slums in Nairobi. The activities are geared towards building the youth’s and the least privileged people’s capacities from within Kawangware, by providing them with skills aiming at communicating the perspectives, problems and needs of their community.
The youths in Kawangware lack hopeful prospects.

The productions, ranging from documentaries, events coverage, film production training and services, to graphic design solutions and music production target inequalities and poverty by providing job opportunities, and an avenue for young people to develop skills for life.
